Bones

Living rock serves as frame
For a greatest masterpiece
Its white shine lasting years
After the living part does cease

Time Keeper

Tick tock, tick, tick tock
Resounds the sound of a broken clock
Click clack grate clack click
A grinding gear, this clock I fear is licked

But the time keeper gazes
With the wisdom of the sages
"The blood of the lamb
Saves a gear rammed
Saves a clock damned"

Second Human Virtue: Justice

Hearing another's heart
To find such a pleasure
Then you must start
To practice that treasure

To treasure another
It's Justice you'll need
To treat as sisters and brothers
That virtuous seed

First Human Virtue: Prudence

If you need to know what's wrong or right
Or know consequences or common sense
To gain such awful knowledge of light
Just practice the virtue called prudence

Think things through with firm discipline
Imagining the truth that may befall
Healthy for body and wholesome within
Is the optimal scene for a decisive call

Solstice

Today is the first day of summer where I live. I understand that in the other half of the world to which I have not had the pleasure of visiting it is the first day of winter.

Today has a certain significance to me, so I will not post something I've written or drawn today, instead I'm going to link to one of my favorite poems by one of my favorite authors. I hope you enjoy it.

The Logical Vegetarian by G. K. Chesterton.

A musing rhyme

I wonder if what can be true
Is true for me as it is for you
When I see blue, do you see it too?

When green is washing over all
From short bush to tree so tall
Is a springtime's green seen by all?

And what about red, is it the same
From traffic light to the lips of a dame
Or do you see red by a different name?

Perhaps what you do see
Is not the same as it is for me
Yet still exists objectively

Confession

A funny thing, a magic box
With a single grate and no locks
People walking in then out
A heavy debt forgiven
I ask you if there's any doubt
About the love God's given

Mist and wind

Mist and wind washing the face
As I cycle through the race
I go slower, in danger of falling
My heart beats lower, in danger of stalling
And the voice of my soul saddens the moon

Starlight pervading my soul's scars
Darkness carrying me afar
Before me sits a great black hole
Swallowing up my wounded soul
And in I go to my death and doom

Pin spiked muscles bring me back
Burning lungs to that bike track
Awful prayer gets my heart to still
As wheels go rolling down the hill
Peace, a gift, a wondrous boon

Try and see, I will not Tell.
What am I?

Memento Mori Soon

A certain walk of daring doom
Finding lies in summer gloom
And Ice cream when there is no spoon
Memento mori soon

A waterfall that scattered falls
Drops that cover banal walls
Wetness, when you see a boon
Memento mori soon

Dryads laughing o'er your head
Naiads whisper what she said
Dancing neath a silver moon
Memento mori soon

Picture gray as colorful
And misery becomes your hull
Floating in the sandy dune
Memento mori soon

Dreary rainbows left unleashed
An uncreative sad pastiche
Pretend it is a mystic rune
Memento mori soon

Sorry, I just realized I forgot to post this yesterday.

Combusting Love

Pistons a going a rising a dropping
Gas is aerating is flowing is flying
Floating on up through the pipes through the spout
Sparking a fire and burning on out

We are a walking a praying a working
The Spirit is breathing is flowing is flying
Our praise goes on up to the heavens to God
Our zeal is a burning, give glory, give laud

And love with full risk that you might grieve
