Seasonal Riddle

Pungent virescently sharp
Guarding the subject of the angel's harp
Clothed in the sparkle of precipitation
Crowned with the star of the nation
What am I?

Answer is here

Nonsense, it means nothing

Parties pilled and pollywhacked pure
To tempestuous trites that tail ten tours
Ripple ridiculously 'round rabbit runes
Lilly light laughter leaving lollipop lunes
Fear falls furiously fallow for free
Granting gobs, gaining grasshoppers' glee

A Righteous Man

A righteous man they called you
Righteous for the Lord
One who heeds the words of angels
Yet rarely speaks a word

A graceful woman are you
Gabriel said 'Full of grace'
And blessed of all women
As long as God is praised

The One Who Is our brother
A helpless little boy
Our Lord who is most humble
Whose birthday we enjoy

I Wait

I wait, still, I wait to see you
Waiting all this time to greet you
Waited with silence to hear you
I will wait a little longer
For it makes my desire stronger
I will love you all the more
With all the energy I have stored
I wait to behold, O Lord, you

Elusive is the feeling of being underpinned
Ardent is the action of such fans of zeal
But waiting is the wreathe of a Christian'd meal

Even when down

Even when down and done we hit the dirt
We remember God's words and light
That shines even more the more we've been hurt
And darker the night

So Mary take heed and guide our prayers to your Son
And we, the children of darkness, need your prayer
None else have helped no matter where we've run
None else would dare

Come, Lord Jesus

My Lord, when you smile my heart gladdens unbidden
You have filled my heart with joy when it was hidden
You ended my days in the pit with the rays of your sun
Come, Lord Jesus, come

Lord, when you laugh my sorrowful soul gayly sings
As though the world became transient and I fall on angels' wings
All the darkness fades, I dance and I hum
Come, Lord Jesus, come

Wait

Up the numbers go
My eyes are tracking dates
Down comes the snow
Every child waits

Wait to gladly sing
And welcome the silent word
Wait for bells to ring
And to kneel before the Lord

Waiting a little now
Waiting a while more
Waiting is the vow
For receiving what's in store

Fire and Fur

Fire and fur feeds the featureless frown
Casting caution to curs cursing the crown
Silencing shrews, stilling the stares
Fire and fur, the ferryman's fares

Minted metals are minced in his mediocre mouth
The smile of surety as we set toward the south
The gaunt grim, against the great God's glares
Fire and fur is how the ferryman fares

The Numerous Stars

The numerous stars and their dancing light
A photonic song through gravitic plight
Reaching the iris, the gateway of a soul
Plying a harmony making wonder whole

In the Darkness of the World

In the darkness of the world
There was a holy spark
Above the flood of sin and error
Came a grace-filled ark

The humble dust that swept the tide
That unknotted lives so curled
The uplifter of the hopes of men
The 'yes' that saved the world

The bond with man that God did make
Was one that made us brother
For no other bond as pure and intimate
As the Son has with our Mother

Wait

Wait. Wait for the bell
Listen. Hear the rope is pulled
Now the spell shall be culled

Hark. Angels gathering round
See. they shall prepare His crown
When he'll be found in a little town

Wait. Though we can hardly wait
Hear. Preperations to do today
And with breath as bait we shall pray

As I Walk the Chapel by

Dirt, that on the open road
Could smell as sweet as apple pie
Or call to mind how the angels sing
As I walk the chapel by

You wouldn't think the choirs would call
Upon as homely a lad as I
But yet they sing most beautifully
As I walk the chapel by

The simple cleric-robed priest does wave
His holy censor over I
And blesses the men who carry me to my grave
As I walk the chapel by

Dancing is a Joyous Gift

Dancing is a joyous gift to celebrate our lives
In preperation for dancing is hard work and sweat

Saying that we are not done enjoying dancing yet

And While the Trees are Sleeping

And while the trees are sleeping
There she walks alone
Among the willows weeping
To the empty throne

Empty of the royal hearts
For all are sleeping now
She walks about the quiet parts
Dances, then gives a bow

To the angels watching, hark
Listen to the song
Of the woman who walks in the dark
Remembering the strong

Am I Left or Am I Right?

Am I left or am I right?
Am I a simple meek little sheep?
Where will I stand that last night?
What will my actions reap?

Will I be attentive to my God
In his million masks in the street?
Or duck my head in cowardly nod
To keep my life nice and neat?

When the Son sets at last
Will I have loved Him like I ought
Or will I be under a spell I cast
Among the finite works I wrought?

Memory Leak

I cannot recall
What I ate this past week
It seems I am a victim
Of a memory leak

Beholding thoughts of food
Which when I try to seek
I encounter a hole
Where my memory leaks

It worries my heart
My body is weak
Perhaps I didn't eat
And I have no memory leak?

Sorry, we were talking
Think me not a freak
But what were you saying
I've had a memory leak

The Tension of Drama

The tension of drama
That tautness of laughter
Relentess joy
Up through the rafters
Ringing a belfry
Dusty and stale
By a boy
Cheery yet pale
Enlightening the darkness
With mischievous light
Riding silent and coy
But not fearing a fight

Numbing Air

Numbing air, halting prayer
My fingers move along the beads
Cuffs of steel, a bitter meal
Walking down the reeds
Walking with my brothers
Down on through the reeds

Youngest one, a woman's son
The woman who now pleads
Riders slow, whip us go
Walking down the reeds
Walking 'way from mothers
Down on through the reeds

As the angels serving thee

The darkness in my heart won't last
And though the struggle mayn't be over fast

In our mother's heart as she watched the bloody train
My hope that joy will overcome the pain

A Silly Thought

A silly thought entered my head
What if I never went to bed?
No dreams for me it seems
Rather books in heaps of reams

Chasing the crook uncaught
Untwisting a twisted plot!
Oh, how I dread going to bed.

In the Darkness of the Glass Filtered Sky

In the darkness of the glass filtered sky
Illusions sweep around the desolate
To keep thought away from my
Character flaws so petulant
Causing my soul imperilment
So before the cross stand I

My bridegroom whose every scar
Every cut and bruise and groan
Shows to me just how far
He’d go to carry me back home
He’d carry me with every burning bone
With every drop in his reservoir

Lord I beg you to let me let you
Help and heal this lowly dust
Pierce this wretch’s stone heart through
And grace with a seed of trust
For before I leave this earth I must
Learn to love, O Love, as you

Giant

None of the swarming giants
Have passed the height compliance
Advocated by the giants
Who have not shown defiance

And yet the shame to comply
Is great, which does guilt imply
While giants are forbidden to reply
Without a new height to apply

And any giant implying scent
Is immediately asunder rent
About the Christian blood that was spent
By past generations that did not repent

Though the current giants cannot recall
About spending blood at all
They spend time under the thrall
Yes! The watch of Them et al.

They that hate the giant race
Their own giantness They do not embrace
And seek to rout out anyplace
That reminds Them of Their true face

The Camel

Given gold of gallant weight
Sitting on several silver plates
Enough wealth for the sake
Of the camel that lost his eye

Wetted worms woven well
Priceless porcelain pitchers fell
Into the ring of the exit bell
Which the camel did espy
Centuries have I sojourned to see
With the value of an ever vanished plea
Who cares for crooked cranks like me
After the camels die?

Though the rich own
As long as the poor
Eat rice off the floor
And have not a door

People who starve
While begging on tar
God throws below
The rich keeping far
More than they need that they stow

Coins

Janus rears his ugly heads
Dent is making up his mind
Loki dances off his meds
While man continues his daily grind
The question weighing on the minds
Of the Pharisees little heads
Where to take the little dimes
To that the little lamb thus said:

Whose image is engraved on this
They agreed it was a man’s
The emperor whose iron fist
Had locked them inside their own lands
Jesus then said it is the man’s
And to give to him what is his
And give to God what is His
Thus to follow the Father’s plans

Sound of Praying

A religious parody of "Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel

Hello Mary my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
For a depression softly creeping
Within my soul has been steeping
And the thorn that was planted in my heart
Now takes a part
In the sound of praying

In restless dreams I walk alone
Far off the path your son has shown
But the angel took my hand and stayed
And kept awake until I obeyed
So that the demons wouldn’t have, my body, my soul, my all
Under thrall
Gone from the sound of praying

Under your patient care I am
Given to you by the lamb
While he hung dying upon the tree
He showed his everlasting love for thee
With every painful breath he gave you comfort ’til he died
With a last sigh
And the sound of praying

Though fool I am, I know, I know!
The love I have for him does grow
The words he spoke still do teach me
His miracles still do reach me
And even the pain from every one of my sins
Draws me within
To the sound of praying

When every knee and nation fall
Every voice with praise shall call
Upon the presence of the holy name
That freed us from the devil’s deadly game
Dear mother Mary, with your son beheld by all
Silence falls
Then starts the song of praying

God bless,

I Heard the King Prepared a Feast

I heard the king prepared a feast
For the wedding of His Son
Generous to great and least
The king invited everyone

Rumors fly of sumptuous wine
Of every kind of beast and bird
Prepared for this joyous time
At least, this is what I’ve heard

With regal invite in my hand
My hopes arise that they are true
But the vulgar state I’m in is bland
And the use of soap would be quite new

Perhaps he would not notice it
His heart happy with joyful song
Or not care about it one wit
Though the summons clearly states that’s wrong

I think that I will try and see
Though I have the time to become clean
With the soap that was provided me
For I tend to think soap is obscene

Pre-Dawn

Ambient light from stars and moon
I see as I arise
The sun will wake up very soon
With gentle photonic sighs

Moist darkness of pre-dawn

Enjoyed before its gone

First the pink, then the glare
Warmth embrace, yet stern
The sun shall greet me with light flare
With love I did not earn

In Shelter

In shelter, in the vineyard, among the builders of the Lord
I see the stone, I see the son, he is coming for a stay
But if the builders have not listened and do not greet him in accord
Instead are plotting, blood on tongue, for a craven play
Then the owner, then the master, shall remove their craven hearts
And set new builders for his vineyard, for this rock
With assurance for the tasting of any wine from any parts
Ours the fullest and most robust around the clock

Whose hunger for love has not been filled
Who wander the darkness in loneliness
Yet seek the light of Christ

Cold, a Damp Cold

Cold, a damp cold that delves to the bones
Darkness that is broken only by heaven’s pinpricks
An atmosphere that makes souls feel heavy as stones
A time when nobility is as crass as mud bricks

Behold, a ray from heaven and then another
The mists of doom disperse and darkness banished
Behold again the rising of the kingdom of our brother
Where both sins and the darkness shall have vanished

Seraph

Lift up your eyes
Behold the man on the cross
For He satisfies
The wrath of God

Exaltation Sonnet

A snake wrapped itself around my soul
Temptation was the game it played and won
Its venom coursing through my essence stole
The purity vital to living in the Son
The burning night and day continued on
Left and right I saw my fellows fall
And fearing not to see another dawn
I begged the Lord to answer true my call
His voice came down so quiet and so strong
“Take heed all those who do not wish to die
You shall be healed as though you’d done no wrong
Looking on the seraph lifted high
For though the wages of your sin is death
Your debt is paid for with His final breath”

Moving Haiku

Crunch mud underfoot
Fumes drowning in the cool rain
As I say goodbye

Benighted Riddle

Half of me is able
The other half is banal
Waxing about light
For those in darkest plight
Until sputtering I die
Now answer ‘what am I?’

Boxed

Inside a strangely cubed container
I jumped down a temporal disturbance
For this cardboard is an imagination trainer
That takes me to a future stance

Little Bitty Poetry

Little bitty pieces
Of a little bitty living
Put into little bitty cubes
For a little bitty moving
Of the little bitty creases
In the little bitty tubes
For a little bitty grooving
And a little bitty giving
Just some little bitty packing
Is a little bitty lacking

Shake

Just a thought
If peace we make
As we ought
Let us shake

Stiffened Vessels

Stiffened vessels of scarlet dread
Lead to stiffened pump of rock
Steeling itself as it hears sins said
Repulsed as if charged with shock

And yet the Truth continues speech
O Mother, let me not delay
In removing all that may impeach
Or corrupt this clump of clay

Let me rejoice and glorify
In hea’en with every holy one
Worship God the Trinity
The Father, Spirit, and the Son

Addicting Limerick

Beaned is the screen that is drowning
And the face that is waiting is frowning
He woke from his cot
And started the pot
But it’s coffee that’s needed for morning

Frigid Riddle

I am so cold that I hold your food, until you handle me good
And though I am running, I need not be caught
I will stop running if you do not treat me as you ought
what am I?

Reflection

Upon reflecting I see a growth
An urge wells up inside
A painful act to remove that path
Results in a smooth ride
