In the darkness of the world
There was a holy spark
Above the flood of sin and error
Came a grace-filled ark
The humble dust that swept the tide
That unknotted lives so curled
The uplifter of the hopes of men
The 'yes' that saved the world
The bond with man that God did make
Was one that made us brother
For no other bond as pure and intimate
As the Son has with our Mother
