Christ Coming

Minstrels of majestic memory mention
Promises proposed by Power unparalleled in purity
About apocalyptic undertakings honored honestly
A beginning granted to a great age of God
By that Deity who decided to do away with death
Wholly humbling himself to human weakness
Sniping sin in suffering souls

Raise the Curtain

In the wrapping of the ages
By soldiers and by sages
The beginning of the final stages
Of the drama will begin

In hearts open through the embrace
If a faithful hopeful grace
Will the incarnation take place
Transforming from within

Happy Thanksgiving

There once was a boy who lived in a cabin
Who, when he grew up, knew the country was saggin'
Under a weight that our selfishness brewed
He established an annual day for gratitude
So that we might remember, remember that we
Aren't only reliant on those that we see
And that thanksgiving is what keeps us free
Let us be thankful for beer and turkey

God bless,

Baking Cookies

Pour the milk, sift the flour
Beat the eggs until you're sour
Mix them with sugar and with power
Mix until homogenous

Spread the batter, lick the spoon
Lay out all the cookies of doom
They will be ready very soon
Ready to be eaten by us

Heat the oven, scorching hot
Put in the sheets, put in the lot
Be grateful for a dessert we've sought
Be grateful for the mess we muss

God bless,

Winter

Silhouette in snow sings of madness
For frost to freeze the fearful thing
Collecting cool and cold out of gladness
Icy signs of light the slipping sing

Soft as Snow

Soft as snow my soul falls
In great reverence to the king
Whilst the angelic herald calls
And the bells of heaven ring

On my knee I give praise
At the face of the Prince of Peace
Who lifted me out of fear and haze
My gratitude will never cease

Nightly Haiku

In a Balloon

In a balloon overlooking the forest
Rests air that is lighter than air
Looking for its invisible lair
Amongst the lightest and the poorest
Leaving behind the oaks and willows
The daisies through which the wind billows
The tulips that would be the envy of any florist

Colorful?

Encapsulating a soul in carbonite
Into a morass of black, grey, and white
Nary a color in hearing or sight
A deep dark mist that covers the light

Such a suspension can anyone kill?
Lift this monochromatic frill
For a soul is not meant to, in a vale, mill
But rather be a city on a hill

The first color to see is blood-red as the rose
Next an orange glow, then the yellow sun’s pose
Green trees, blue hopes, and indigo grows
And finally we’ll see the violet king’s clothes

All Good Things

The roots of the last tree reaches
The core of the first it breaches
Until the Chosen One beseeches
On behalf of all God's creatures

"Father!" cries the lion's pride
"Turn away from a destructive tide"
"Father! Father!" the lamb has cried
Within his cry the faithful abide

Down the fiery divine wrath
On the tainted wide smooth path
The faithful protected the lion hath
Those soaked by the lamb's blood bath

Chilling Haiku

Flows out as he awakens
Into the sole soul

Ta Ta Ta

Ta ta ta go heaven's tears
(ta ta ta ta ta)
Lifting me out of my dread and fears
Out of the dark dog's maw

Ti ti ti on the roof
(ti ti ti ti ti)
With a surety as any proof
That men can be as free

Ta ta ta the angel's song
(ta ta ta ta ta)
Letting me drift ever along
Letting my stone heart thaw

God bless,

Troubling

What troubles me, Lord, about this path
Is the madness of the very earth
That cannot be cleansed with a simple bath
Whose presence dampens even honest mirth

I cannot see, Lord, beyond the mist
Of my eyes that I have clouded in vanity
My ship always bucks with a list
As I sail away from my insanity

Lord, let me see, I beg of thee
That within your merciful heart the blood
May flow out healing as a sea
And make noble this base creature of mud

God bless,

Root of All Evil

What has love of money done
For all the souls entrapped by luster?
What happens to them after the fun
By the demons is finished and done?
Do they have any wealth to muster?

But look an old woman in poverty gives all
She has, without reserve or regret
Ignoring money's alluring thrall
Responding instead to the divine call
She'll be rewarded when all is done and said

Vulgar Politeness

Polite is the meeting, polite the man
Which in the fleeting lively struggle
Attempts politely to arrest the action
Which seeks where Wisdom ran
For leaving a meeting for a woman
Goes against the polite plan

Vulgar is the eating, vulgar the tongue
Which in its seating within the soul
Corrupts that warm and gentle Wisdom
Into a song that's never sung
For leaving off pleasure to hear a woman
Is not where vulgarity is hung

Catholic the vision, and Catholic the heart
Which in its mission is common and noble
Lively as fire and gentle as rain
Plants a strong seed that will start
Growing to God in both man and woman
And burns the sin that keeps them apart

God bless,

All Souls

In the longing fire that cleanses my bones
Clears my eyes while my soul atones
I turn my face to your fair city
And a wind cools me from prayers of pity
