A forked tongue swifted slifted
Tasted cheese in the air it lifted
Found a mouse in his domain drifted
And slithered near
The mouse gaily nibbled, nuzzled
Heard a noise and glanced up, puzzled
Carefully searched with hunger muzzled
To growing fear
Seen were scales, heard was hissing
Yet the rodent’s prayer weren’t missing
‘Save me, Lord, for death is kissing!
And wanders here.’
Angels bells unheard, resounded
Into the mouse’s body pounded
Wings unfurled, new species founded
Thus bats appear
God bless,
