As we approach the notorious ending
And escape the instantaneous tide
We hear messages the angels are sending
Like a light in the night
While to God, all our secrets, we confide
What to expect from an acrimonious kingship
That the world will have to resign
To that holy romance and intimate courtship
That we laud between God
And the Church through Christ’s proposal line
