Trust

The fallings of princes, the risings of kings,
The births of nations, elections, disasters
The powers balancing all of these things
Rely not on me, or my insignificant trust

I watch as they dance, form, and break
I tarry not where they dwell, nor ask their favor
It is not worth any of the costs they take
For something I value as much as my trust

Instead, I put my faith in the man on the tree
His power is peace, and His eyes see me
