Ascension

Little colored soldiers clinging onto life

Amidst a great torrential furious windy strife

Decimated in the storm, few remain today

Gazing at the hardy blossoms, I begin to pray

May I, like these blossoms, persist within Thy grace

Though the worldly storms beg distraction from Thy face

Waiting for the coming (as you did entreat)

Calmly, peacefully, and prayerfully for the Holy Paraclete

Another step past the line
Past the border in my mind
On a journey, mission, trip
To go beyond plane, train, or ship
Another step on this walk
And another as I balk
But stubbornness carries through
My goal to search for you
The you that sent me on
Will greet me when this path is done

Go Plant the Seeds

Go plant the seeds, plant them in the earth
Go spread the word, show the world rebirth
Go and fish for men, feeding all the poor
Go to those who seek, and open up the door

Pour forth the water, baptize all the nations
Pour forth the fire, the Spirit’s animations
Pour forth the light, the darkness shrinks away
Pour forth your blood and sweat, work for God and pray
