Ash Wednesday

Remember, dust
Return, dust
Repent, dust
Believe, dust

Ash Wednesday

All corruption
BURN!
All fear and despair
TO ASH!
My bones smolder with
REPENTANCE!

God bless,

Ashed

Back to earth
To humble dirt
Mortal sorrows
Heaven borrows
Sufferings revert
To humble mirth

Path of Swords and Tears

A catholic crossed by ash
A road crossed by palms
Glory in life and death
May all glory be to God

Ash Wednesday

With love we turn our faces to
The one who made us crossed
Crossed the desert 'tween man and God
Devoted to the journey's end

Ash Wednesday!

In the temple in my heart
Washed with His blood
A desert journey I start
A rain dance for the flood

Ash Wednesday

Broken wisps and fettered dreams
Broken minds do unseemly things
Broken bodies wither and die
A broken man on a tree lifted high
Burns the breath and singes the psyche
Lets the desert wandering try me

God bless,

Ash Wednesday

Dust and ashes penitent
Clothes ripped and souls rent
Time with our brother now is spent
As we start this holy Lent

God bless,

Ash Wednesday

Preventing my soul from gaining rust
I walk the desert and taste its dust
Gaining wisdom through Charity's lash
I pray repentance to my Lord with ash

God bless,

Ash Wednesday

In that waking moment of sense within
Go out and plant peace in the world's din
And sleep comes
And death drums
So that we'll see everyone as dearest kin

With ashes, die to this vain life
Full of grudges and with selfishness rife
And instead be free
Forgive all we see
Our souls will dance with cymbal and fife

With the cross, our Father marks family
With such hope, we march on verily
Faith through pain
We have no gain
For we give out love and joy so merrily

God bless,

Ash Wednesday.

Happy Anniversary to me! Self congratulatory, I know. I decided that since I started this blog on Ash Wednesday, that its anniversary should be Ash Wednesday. So there.

My posting schedule will be daily, as part of my Lenten practice this year.

God bless,
