Pentecost Vigil
Hiding in the comfort of friends
Darkness surrounds and fear rends
The only action left to us is prayer
We cannot sleep. We do not dare.
The windows closed and the doors barred
Even fighting for hope is doubly hard
Our very breath is stale on our lips
No longer men, but lads and wimps
A thunderous barrage of silent wind
Surrounds all of us here who have sinned
A smile alights from the Blessed Mother
Then flames alight on each brother
The holy God's grace opens the door
Windows unbarred, we leap from the floor
His Spirit speaks out and prophesies
Three thousand souls saved from the Father of Lies
