Treasure stored is treasure lost

Greed and envy is the cost

Keeping others from anything

Keeping others away and fleeting

Until their simple breath

Glorious Gratitude

Sticky stench passing through

Leading off beyond what's due

Yet even in the foulest cell

I hear the ringing of the bell

Amongst the lowest I have been

Lower still to go, from what I've seen

My pride, patched beyond repair

I hear here the angels' care

The church's bell and angels' song

Lifts the meek to be the strong

I give thanks for dirt and dust

To my God in whom I trust

Who, when he grew up, knew the country was saggin'
Under a weight that our selfishness brewed
He established an annual day for gratitude
So that we might remember, remember that we
Aren't only reliant on those that we see
And that thanksgiving is what keeps us free
Let us be thankful for beer and turkey
