A dance on the floor with the light fading in
Pondering angels pray
A festival of melancholy mixing with tin
In his eternal lay
Dig! Dig! away the dismay
As pondering angels pray
A toast to the bards as the violin hums
On this auspicious day
A cake filled with tears as much as with crumbs
Alone upon a tray
Dig! Dig! away with dismay
As pondering angels pray
God bless,

Watch and Pray
Won't you watch and pray with me?
Listen with your entire soul?
Keep my law most carefully?
Keep my love within you whole?
Won't you watch and pray tonight?
Stay with me and do not sleep?
With strongest fervor til morning light?
In your heart my presence keep?
God bless,

Dust
Dust is left from lonely threads
Connecting to joyful, sorrowful webs
That capture dreams in blues and reds
And paint the memory in flows and ebbs
God bless,

I Wonder About Pain
I wonder about pain and suffering and death
What it is to be sane, what it is to have breath
I wonder if I, who am grateful for such
To be able to die, and the warning of touch
Could be considered a fool, a madman, or crazed
Or maybe I am thinking so much that I'm dazed
After all it is far more important to the One
That I love Him, His Son, and His mother a ton
God bless,

Allergy
Dust settles in my nose
A loud sound my mouth throws
All from smelling a rose
Cursed allergy
But then from that sound she smiles
At a glance my heart stops and riles
My allergy reduced our distance by miles
God was blessing me
God bless,

Lead
If all roads lead to Rome
All roads could lead away
As chastity leads to home
And lust leads astray
So I walk this road
As long as it may be
Until familial abode
At last I may see
Lord, to whom should we go
Even troubled as we are
The Word you are and know
And you've promised to lead us far
God bless,

Adventurous Gloom
A heart of lead and rusting veins
No tin man could understand such pains
And walk alone along that road
To find truth and love beyond the plains
Before all integrity has been sold
God bless,

Something About a Tiger and a Tree and Something Else... I Think
Flying tiger through the sky
Amongst the trees soaring high
Then caught by leafy cage and kept
A laughing child stopped then wept
Captured tiger, tail in patches
A tree’s burr the poly fur snatches
One glass bead looks down at the boy
A weeping child and an imprisoned toy
Then like a cannon the snare destroyed
A baseball thrown from boy annoyed
The fettered feline by leather missile saved
Falls on a child whose tears’ve been stayed
The older boy collects his ball
The smaller boy stands up tall
And his hiccuping thanks he bade
With simple actions a friendship made
God bless,

Holy Rest
Polite staring at the golden throne
Hours of rest while kneeling on stone
A wee babe in his father's hands
Assured of the love in his father's plans

Curse
Such a curse it is to ignore
The magic found beyond your door
To not call to mind the lore
Of the One Who is the Core
Ah the bitterness of Adam’s sons
Of Cain’s never ceasing runs
To have life seized as by the Huns
To where one cannot laugh at puns
A curse that sees a tree as less
Then a sign of the One’s caress
A simple thing He does bless
Whose depths we could only guess
God bless,

Quarry
Year after year of cutting out bricks
And laying them on a solid foundation
Without cutting corners or foolhardy tricks
Making a virtuous house in a fashion

Don't Drink Too Much Wine
Don't drink too much wine
Come instead and drink some blood
The world will pass away in time
And be destroyed by graceful flood
Don't eat too much bread
Come instead and eat some flesh
The world has no real food, no cred
It's core is rotten, and is never fresh
You are what it is you eat
So come and eat of the Savior's feast
You will never go down in defeat
Nor dragged down to being a beast
God bless,

Patience is a furious thing
Keeping calm when you want to sing
A suffering most undignified
When patience holds you down inside

The Porch's Swing
The last vestiges of hazy sleep
From napping on the porch's swing
Take me down very deep
Into a land of everything
Where giants stomp and shake the land
And genii give wishes to counter fools
Whilst Thumbelina sings upon a hand
And knights have honor, and Arthur rules
Half awake and half asleep
From napping on the porch's swing
In homesickness I weep
For the land of Christ the King
God bless,

Disaster
Disaster can fall at any time
Without any knowing the reason or rhyme
Fortune and safety will turn on a dime
Targeting the lowly or those in their prime
Those innocent or guilty of crime
An egalitarian act so sublime
That any saint, scum, or slime
Drinking water, or drinking lime
Can be subjected to it at any time
God bless,

Broom
Out of sun, under broom
Whilst depression creeps and looms
Yet angelic hope shall bloom
Today I do not greet my tomb

Were I to Die
I sometimes wonder were I to die
If that would make thee glad
For I would no longer sin against thy
Holy name, no longer make thee sad
But then I recall that thou hadst died
For my soul thou bled and cried
So I will with all my strength abide
In thy name, and stay by thy side
God bless,

Maybe I should write about that?
But then how much can the light
Shed on something so empty and flat?

Likely found in depths of honey
Is a treasure of fantastic flavor
Which is wonderfully sweet to savor

Stormy Walk
Carefree caress of gentle rain drops
Gliding down with plips and plops
Birds and squirrels hide in their trees
Avoiding the draft from a sudden brisk breeze
Rainwater dissolving children's pictures of chalk
Such things can be seen during a stormy walk
God bless,

It is a Joy to Walk in Summer
It is a joy to walk in summer
Amidst the heat and beneath the light
And still a joy to walk under
A winter moon amidst the night
And where I walk you will find me
As you made me wandering
In sky, on land, or sailing the sea
A traveler's song I ever sing
This song I sing is of the home
That you have built of flesh and bone
Where I will no longer flit and roam
A house of faith sturdy on stone
Where I will leave my souvenirs
And finally rest in your hands
A child who has overcome his fears
And enjoyed your varied lands
And finally I will deeply sleep
Dear brother, O so gently rest
And may your peace within me steep
As my exhausted soul will crest
God bless,
