It is a joy to walk in summer
Amidst the heat and beneath the light
And still a joy to walk under
A winter moon amidst the night
And where I walk you will find me
As you made me wandering
In sky, on land, or sailing the sea
A traveler's song I ever sing
This song I sing is of the home
That you have built of flesh and bone
Where I will no longer flit and roam
A house of faith sturdy on stone
Where I will leave my souvenirs
And finally rest in your hands
A child who has overcome his fears
And enjoyed your varied lands
And finally I will deeply sleep
Dear brother, O so gently rest
And may your peace within me steep
As my exhausted soul will crest
God bless,
