Life wanders where people scorn
Where people kill what has been born
One born (yet not born) who will die
Condemned by Pilate's slothful lie
Life wanders under burden's borne
On wood that deathly pains adorn
The innocent that gladly bears
Our cruel hearts and sinful wares
Life falters once upon that morn
And stumbles onto hands so worn
Yet once again upon His feet
Life goes on without defeat
Life's warm berth for nine months borne
Obedient soul to Gabriel's horn
O'er thirty years has watched His way
With sword in heart watches today
Life has friends e'en when forlorn
Who will lighten what one has borne
And steady the sway and heft the load
Simon keeps straight Life's road
God bless,
