Calm Before the Storm

Silence while the noise is breaking
Chaos calmed by anxious fear
Evil stilled in anticipation
God has died and been buried here

Yet the devil sits unnerved
And the world strives to see
While the faithful gather near
Singing, praying, peacefully

God bless,

You Know

You know my thoughts
You know why I
Fear to show my feet
You know my doubts
You know my lie
And my eventual defeat

God bless,

Stations X-XIV

Life stripped bare, before the tree
The noble tree of life
Without care or decency
We give Him so much strife

Life nailed there, upon the tree
The noble tree of life
Bloodied, bare, and suffering
We give Him so much strife

Death claims Life, upon the tree
Blood pours out for all
Death has won on calvary
Life takes mankind’s fall

A body plucked from the tree
The noble tree of life
A mother buckled on her knee
Crying out her strife

Life wanders into the tomb
Three days into deathly doom
Three days behind a heavy stone
On the third, Death has flown

God bless,

Stations VI-IX

Life wanders though the body’s worn
Though the mind’s peace has been shorn
Veronica sees the suffering pace
And gives her care to wipe His face

Life falters once again that morn
Upon a body bruised and torn
And once again bears the weight
And walks the path narrow, straight

Life wanders where the women mourn
And asks not to weep for Him forlorn
But weep for themselves, for their kin
Who have long been subject to sin

Life falters a final time that morn
A final rising to the cross is borne
And finally comes to calvary
Life wanders to patiently

God bless,

Stations I-V

Life wanders where people scorn
Where people kill what has been born
One born (yet not born) who will die
Condemned by Pilate's slothful lie

Life wanders under burden's borne
On wood that deathly pains adorn
The innocent that gladly bears
Our cruel hearts and sinful wares

Life falters once upon that morn
And stumbles onto hands so worn
Yet once again upon His feet
Life goes on without defeat

Life's warm berth for nine months borne
Obedient soul to Gabriel's horn
O'er thirty years has watched His way
With sword in heart watches today

Life has friends e'en when forlorn
Who will lighten what one has borne
And steady the sway and heft the load
Simon keeps straight Life's road

God bless,
