Grey and biting air
Stealing warmth necessary
Sealing enjoyment
Sun appears and bites
Gives indiscriminate warmth
Joy of the Christ Child
God bless,

Christmas Poem
Cold winter’s night for child of the light
Bundled and swaddled, asleep
A hopeful sight for man’s fearful plight
From the union with God, and we weep
In holy blue, with soft, gentle coo
The virgin carries her son
Who will carry for you, the burden we rue
And rise after it is done
He silently prays and in silent ways
A faithful man cares for those two
He either stays or leads them for days
As the angel tells him to do
God bless,
>P<

Slaughter at Bethlehem
Thousands of Abel sounds
Drench the thirsty grounds
As Herod’s militia pounds
Away from Bethlehem
Thousands of children’s cries
From the village rise
Amidst the mourning sighs
In little Bethlehem
The house that gave us life
Is now filled with pain and strife
And Death still plays his fife
For the souls of Bethlehem
God bless,

St. Stephen
Whistle thump thud clack
River of red bleeding out
Deaconite death
No scream, no cry ‘help’
Down with kindness and with prayer
Still praying with love
God bless,

Sweet Mary's Heart
A piercing cry from a newborn
As he tastes the brisk air
The only sound that silent morn
The Son of Man lay bare
The cries stop as quick as they start
As Jesus hears sweet Mary’s heart
Poor and rich, ox and ass
The angels sing and adore
Swaddled babe hold us fast
So we may be a little more
God bless,

Who started with a wee babe’s call
Into a painful whisper at the end

O Key of David
O Clavis David, who unlocks the soul
Free us from attachment to earthly things
From the world that takes its toll
So we may journey to where the angel sings

Last Path Seen
The last path is seen
The lamp will light up the way
The manger will end
And in dark silence
Jesse’s sprout grows in bread’s home
A merciful child

A Desert Voice
The subtlest touches
The grand finales
An artist’s blood and sweat
Our path crunches
An angel tallies
The amount of our spiritual debt
And from the sands across the ages
A voice shouts “Freedom from our cages!”
For unto us God has sent
A desert voice “Repent! Repent!”
Insanity whirring
And we reject
Yet the call of freedom sounds
Our souls stirring
Holy respect
For the joy that knows no bounds
Our salvation comes from a simple yes
Shouldn’t we respond with nothing less?
For unto us God has sent
A desert voice “Repent! Repent!”
God bless,

Immaculate Song
Sing songs, little one
Songs of the Most High
Sing hope, chosen one
With the birds in the sky
Sing joy, little one
Joy that God will come soon
Sing love, chosen one
He will grow in your womb
Sing life, little one
Your prayers to our Lord
Sing grief, chosen one
For hearts pierced by a sword
Sing songs, little one
Mary, sing them to God
Sing hope, chosen one
With humble honor and laud
God bless,

God's Voice
In the hot air of Talkers
Or the sweat of Doers
Can you hear God’s voice?
In the grunt of Fighters
Or the hum of Thinkers
Can you hear God’s voice?
Or do you hear God’s voice
In silence, under trees
In the quiet, gentle breeze?
God bless,

Advent Riddle
Built at the start for holding things like bread
Weaving questions around, queries that said
That, ask within me, is my purpose set?
Mystic end of me, the last of my secret?
What am I?
The answer's wikipedia page. I decided to give the answer immediately this time, for a change of pace.
God bless,

Advent's Sign
Stones dance up the mountain path
That people to walk strive to great lengths
O Praise! O Praise! To God the King!
Flowers sing and bees give thanks
Birds fly up the mountain path
That repentant sinners dare to climb
O Praise! O Praise! To God the King!
All creatures hope in Advent’s sign
God bless,
