On the Christian Life

I understand the hesitation
My tepid nation, your palpitation
Regarding the man on the tree
That brother of liberty

I understand the fear and strife
Coming with the life, of familial knife
Stabbing in the back and face
And the laughter at disgrace

I understand and also dread
Being dead, as He said
Taking up that daily cross
I hesitate to take the loss

So I understand why you turn back
I also lack courage and tack
And drifting lie on the deck
That is why I am a wreck

Not everyone won't faint
Not everyone's a saint

God bless,
