A Fool I Knew

A fool I knew (Not I for sure)
Thought he found a penultimate cure
For the ills of the world (which? I know not)
Yet saw that others against him fought

And in his mind (I was there)
Thought such injustice was unfair
And plotted vengeance, death and theft
In the end was left bereft

The point (I think) to such an end
Is to doubt the self and trust the friend
Our God died to keep our sight
Upon wisdom, love, and the light

God bless,
