Painted kindly in belief

That every flower and every petal

Has its blossom in its hour

Who can say with any sense

Which flower gives greater recompense

To the patient petal painter

Than the painter grants a petal

And who can say with any mettle

If any flower be great or faint

In the glory of the painter

And his patient paint
